What is it?
Performance group is a non-competitive dance troupe aimed at the student who is looking for more performance opportunities. The dancers will be given the opportunity to study several different dance styles (Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Hip-Hop & more) as well as musical theatre, acting, choreography & performance preparation. We will be doing several small performances throughout the year culminating in a yearend performance. We would like to offer this opportunity to any student of dance regardless of school affiliation. We request that the 8-12 year olds have completed at least one year of dance training & the 13 & up group will have at least 3 years of dance.
The maximum class size will be limited to 15 dancers. (Auditions will be held if necessary)
Parents will be asked to help with simple costumes (organizing, buying, renting or sewing). There will be extra charges for costumes but we will keep this at a minimum. All proceeds from our shows will go to a costume/special guest teacher/ travel fund.
Our goal is to create a positive, fun environment for students to experience stage & dance in a professional atmosphere.
